Happy Birthday Mama L!

The Mama slice of our family had a birthday today. We started the day with some gluten-free blueberry muffins. (Lemon Cake Mix by 'Cause You're Special made per the directions, but with rice milk; in muffin tins baked in our toaster oven for 25 minutes in 3 batches.) The Little One and I made them last night before the bedtime routine and she started asking about them less than a minute after waking up this morning. Then off to church and some grocery shopping. Back in time for lunch (Bison burgers with "buns" from Chebe pizza crust mix; fresh lettuce from the church garden and sprouts from our friends at Barefoot Farms) and a nap. Dinner was the surprise that I'd been scrupulously teaching The Little One how to keep ("What's for dinner?", "Steak", "No, no, when she asks, say 'Nothing.'") Big ol' steaks on the grill, more salad from the the fresh local stuff and polenta on the side burner of the grill.



Tonight it's cooled off a lot and we're back to sleeping in the yurt! Now that's a birthday treat.

We just got a camera! And so, it is definitely time to start posting on our blog!

Welcome to our home. We 3 live here along with 4 feline friends, Monty, Dinah, Snickers and Winston, occasionally our neighbors heard of cattle (they intentionally graze here) and a fantastic menagerie of wildlife (which includes more insect species in one square yard than I could previously identify). We've had many requests from family and friends to share more of our adventures, so here it goes. In order for us to be most successful we'd love your comments, requests, etc.
